The area is interesting for slow walking, There is also peace of modern history, the hidden hq of Chinese rebels and brave fighting (the bullets are not removed from the walls ). Introduction
The Huaqing Palace on the outskirts of Xi'an has been a hot spring bathing resort since ancient times and was also where the Xi'an Incident took place. During Emperor Xuanzong's reign in Tang Dynasty, it was a bathing place for the royal family and court ministers. Now, you can visit the royal pools of Tang Xuanzong and Yang Guifei, named Lotus Pool and Haitang Pool respectively. In 1936, the Xi'an Incident took place and changed China's destiny. In the southern part of the scenic spot, the “five halls” of Chiang Kai-shek’s old residential site were preserved intact, and the bullet marks of the fierce battle are still left on the walls.

nice place with rich history of the beginning of Taoism and the love affair of the famous Tang emperor and his concubine Yang.
This palace is not huge but meaningful of history. Not only famous in Spa structure for the king family, but also the LiShan (hill of the palace) with over 1,000m height & stairs going up to the top with the point of fire which used as message signal in ancient time. Interesting there …
