What people are saying:

Of course it’s hard for something as storied as the Terracotta Warriors to completely live up to hype and expectations, but they come awfully close to doing so. Pro-tip: walk the galleries in reverse order so you save the largest hall with the most recognizable figures for last. This makes it much better experience.

Additional Information

Introduction

The Museum of Qin Terracotta Warriors and Horses, also known as the Terracotta Army, is located about 1.5 kilometers east of the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor and forms part of the extensive necropolis. There were more than a thousand terracotta soldiers unearthed here, each with a different facial expression. Standing before the massive underground army, you will feel the extraordinary might of the Qin Emperor that enabled him to unify six warring states two thousand years ago. The Qin Emperor Ying Zheng began building the mausoleum for himself at the age of 13. Nearly 720000 men and 38 years were required to complete this vast project.

Helpful Information

1.At the gate of this scenic spot, there are many scammers whom will induce tourists towards the ‘fake’ terra-cotta warriors’ pits and therefore do take note that you are not being deceived. 2. There are many ‘fake’ guides in the east square of Xian Train Station and therefore it is advisable to approach the designated guides (with armbands) for touring or other arrangements.
